On January 25, 2021, Ontario, Canada-based Yatsen Group of Companies, Inc. d/b/a Sarku Japan, filed a petition for recognition of a foreign proceeding under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Case 21-10073). Sarku Japan, which features made-to-order teriyaki and sushi, is the largest Japanese quick service restaurant franchisor in the United States.
