Nighthawk Energy plc, along with its wholly owned subsidiary Nighthawk Royalties LLC, has filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Lead Case No. 18-10990).  Nighthawk, an independent oil & gas company operating in the DJ Basin in Colorado, has not yet filed First Day Motions.  According to the April 30, 2018 Board Minutes attached to the Petition, Nighthawk enters Chapter 11 intending to sell substantially all of its assets under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code to an unspecified stalking horse bidder.  The Board Minutes also disclose that Nighthawk intends to file an ancillary proceeding in the Courts of England and Wales and that OilQuest USA LLC, an affiliate, may soon file a petition for Chapter 11 relief.  JND Corporate Restructuring is the proposed claims and noticing agent.  The cases have been assigned to the Honorable Brendan Linehan Shannon.
